Despite the Intergrade trailer showing Tifa and Barret, Yuffie is the new episode’s only playable character. Sonon, her cohort from Wutai, fights on his own. However, pressing “L2” changes their fighting style and sees Sonon coordinate his moves to match Yuffie’s.
Intergrade will introduce new Materia and summons exclusive in just the DLC. They won’t be retroactively added to the base Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Nomura made no mention about whether they’ll be part of FF7 Remake chapter two.
Nomura also said Intergrade acts as a bridge for the development team. Developing the environments exclusively for PlayStation 5 is making the transition to FF7 Remake chapter two easier. While he didn’t close the door on future DLC after Intergrade, he said it won’t happen until much later, if it does happen at all.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade releases June 10 for PlayStation 5.
