Update Your Game
Blizzard is working hard on fixing any issues connected to Overwatch 2 not launching, so the first thing you should do is update your game. Follow these steps:
Start the Battle. net app. Select Overwatch 2 option from the list. Click on the cogwheel next to the Play button. Select “Check for Updates” option.
If there are any new updates, the game will download and install them, fixing any issues.
Repair Your Game
It is also possible that your game is fully updated, but some of the system files may be corrupted. That’s why you need to repair them by doing the following:
Start the Battle. net app. Select Overwatch 2 option from the list. Click on the cogwheel next to the Play button. Select “Scan and Repair” option/ Click on “Begin Scan”.
This process may take a while, but be sure to wait until it is finished. There is a big chance that this will fix the corrupted files.
Reset In-Game Settings
Another reason why Overwatch 2 may not launch is incompatible in-game settings. You can reset them without starting the game:
Start the Battle. net app. Select Overwatch 2 option from the list. Click on the cogwheel next to the Play button. Select “Game Settings” option. Click on “Reset In-Game Options”. Confirm by pressing “Reset” button. Wait and press “Done” at the end.
After that, restart Battle.net and try to launch Overwatch 2 once again to see if this helped.
Update Your Graphics Card Drivers
Follow these instructions to update Nvidia graphics drivers:
Download the latest Nvidia graphics drivers from the official website. Start the installation process. Restart your PC when finished.
Follow these instructions to update ATI Radeon graphics drivers:
Download the latest ATI Radeon graphics drivers from the official website. Start the installation process. Restart your PC when finished.
Turn off Antivirus and Firewall
Temporarily turn off your Windows Defender or any other third-party antivirus, and launch it back up once you’re finished playing:
Press the Start button. Go to “Settings” tab. Select “Update and Security” feature. Go to “Windows Security” tab. Select “Virus and Threat Protection” feature. Go to “Manage Settings” option. Set the real-time protection to OFF.
You may also temporarily disable the Windows firewall:
Press the Start button. Go to “Settings” tab. Select “Update and Security” feature. Go to “Windows Security” tab. Select “Firewall and Windows Protection” feature. Open “Windows Security” settings. Switch the Microsoft Defender Firewall option OFF.
